Confession
St Paul says
‘Be imitators of God; love as Christ loved; Do not grieve the Holy Spirit; put away all anger and bitterness, all slander and malice.’ So, let us confess our sins to God, who forgives us in Christ.
Early in the morning
my prayer comes before you. Lord, have mercy.
Lord have mercy.
You speak into my heart and say, ‘Seek my face’. your face, Lord, will I seek. Christ have mercy.
Christ have mercy.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength and redeemer. Lord have mercy.
Lord have mercy.
Absolution
May the God of love bring us back to himself, forgive us our sins, And assure us of his eternal love in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
We give thanks for the light of this new day.
Gloria
Glory to God in the highest, and peace to his people on earth. Lord God, heavenly King,
Almighty God and Father, we worship you; we give you thanks, we praise you for your glory.
Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father, Lord God, Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world: have mercy on us.
You are seated at the right hand of the Father: receive our prayer.
For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High,
Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God, the Father.
Amen.
Collect for the day
O Lord, we beseech you mercifully to hear the prayers of your people who call upon you; and grant that they may both perceive and know what things they ought to do, and also may have grace and power faithfully to fulfil them; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen

PSALM 25.1-9
To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul; my God, I put my trust in you; let me not be humiliated, nor let my enemies triumph over me. Let none who look to you be put to shame; let the treacherous be disappointed in their schemes.
Remember, O Lord, your compassion and love.
Show me your ways, O Lord, and teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; in you have I trusted all the day long.
Remember, O Lord, your compassion and love.
Remember, O Lord, your compassion and love, for they are from everlasting. Remember not the sins of my youth and my transgressions; remember me according to your love and for the sake of your goodness, O Lord.
Remember, O Lord, your compassion and love.
Gracious and upright is the Lord; therefore he teaches sinners in his way. He guides the humble in doing right and teaches his way to the lowly. All the paths of the Lord are love and faithfulness to those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.
Remember, O Lord, your compassion and love.
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and shall be forever. Amen.

Gospel

Dramatized Reading Matthew 21.23–32
This is the Gospel of the Lord:
Praise to you, O Christ.
Reflection
Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was crucified, died and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
Prayers
Merciful Father, accept these prayers for the sake of your Son our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
The Lord’s Prayer
As our Saviour taught us we boldly pray:
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those
who sin against us.
Save us from the time of trial and deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours, now and for ever.
Amen.
The Peace
Please stand for the peace.
God is love and those who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. The peace of the Lord be with you.
And also, with you
Closing Sentences
In the power of the Spirit:
We offer our prayer.
Holy the Light of God, Holy the Light in us all. The Light that shines in the darkness and clears away the mists of our pain and ignorance. The Light that shows us the way, to true freedom and joy, and restores us to wholeness of life.
We offer thanks and praise for all the blessings of life, in all that this day brings. May we be guided by your Holy Spirit, and held in your protective closeness, that we may uphold that which is good, that we may have compassion and care for each other, and be united in the fullness of love. Amen.
