Supporting Local Families – A Ministry Area Initiative
For some time now, a quiet but powerful initiative has been taking place across our Ministry Area. Providing long-life milk and cereal to local families through schools. As the cost of living continues to affect many, this simple act of kindness has become a vital source of support for those who need it most.
Now, we believe it’s time to do more.
We are inviting anyone who shares a heart for helping others to join us on Monday, 1st July at 1:00pm in Caerwent Church. This gathering will bring together like-minded people from across the Ministry Area to explore how we can expand this work, raising awareness, seeking funding, and offering wider support to families who are struggling.
If you care about your community and want to be part of something that makes a practical and lasting difference, we would love to see you there.
To find out more or to get involved, please contact Colin Paine on 07818 831180.

Giving

In his teachings, Jesus spoke about how we use our resources, including money. For Christians, financial giving is one way to live out our faith and support the church’s mission. This includes contributing to our local church community to sustain its work of sharing the Good News.
If you currently give donations during Sunday services or would like to start giving regularly, the Church in Wales offers a Gift Direct program that allows you to set up a standing order. This can be a convenient option, and those who qualify can utilise Gift Aid to make their donation go further.
At the moment, Gift Direct is set up individually for each church. If you’d prefer your donation to go toward supporting our overall Ministry Area, just contact the Netherwent Ministry via their website so that they can facilitate that.
You can click the link below to enrol in Gift Direct or to learn more about the various giving options available. Know that any support you can provide according to your circumstances is appreciated.

The Church In Wales has produced a leaflet to help explain how the Gift Direct scheme works. It can be downloaded here.

Together with the Church in Wales and other organisations the Welsh Government is asking as many people as possible to be trained in performing CPR (CardioPulmonaryResusuctation). There will be various training events available as the pandemic continues to ease, but in the meantime please take 8 minutes to watch our video training film – who knows any one of us may need your help one day! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOxhbGYRVK8
